MKA Middlesex Sowing the Seeds of Sustainability

Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Middlesex embraced the spirit of sustainability on Saturday, November 11th, 2023, by participating in a tree planting activity in collaboration with Trees for Cities. The event took place at West End Road in Hayes, where the collective efforts of 23 Khuddam representing all 6 Qiadats resulted in more than 250 newly planted trees.

The event holds a special resonance as it aligns with the teachings of Islam, echoing the words of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): “If a Muslim plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person, or an animal eats from it, it is regarded as Sadaqah for him.” Moreover, Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih V (May Allah strengthen his hand) has provided instructions urging every Ahmadi to plant two trees annually.

Though the weather presented challenges with muddy grounds and standing water in some places, it proved to be no hindrance in comparison to the overwhelming sense of joy that encompassed the event. For a number of Khuddam this provided an enriching educational event as it was their first experience of planting trees.

The initiative provided a unique opportunity for Khuddam to not only expand their knowledge but also to actively contribute to the well-being of their environment and to a future that is both greener and healthier.
