By the Grace of Allah the Almighty, MKA Masroor Region organised a friendly T20 cricket match against members from St Luke’s and Christ Church, Chelsea on Wednesday June 29, 2022.

Alhamdolillah the event was a great success.

Through the game of cricket, we were able to establish a connection with the church and introduce our Jama’at to them. The game enabled members of both teams to interact and discuss future initiatives of using sport as a means to engage with other faiths and the wider community and help break down barriers and foster good community relations. Alhamdolillah the Church is already trying to organise future events in collaboration with our Jama’at.

MKA UK won the game at the end, but winning was secondary and the main objective was achieved by creating a friendly and strong bond between two communities.

After the game a copy of The Holy Qur’an was given to Mr. Samuel Rylands who is a Curate at St. Luke’s and Christ Church, Chelsea by Khalique Mirza sahib, National Secretary Isha’at UK. This was followed by an introduction to The Review of Religions magazine by Shahzad Ahmed sahib after which a copy of the latest edition was distributed to all the guests. Finally, Shams Najm sahib who is a volunteer at The Voice of Islam Radio gave a brief introduction about the Voice of Islam Radio and gave some souvenirs as well.

At the end light refreshments were also served to all the guests.
