Chapter 2, Verse 255
یٰۤاَیُّہَا الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡۤا اَنۡفِقُوۡا مِمَّا رَزَقۡنٰکُمۡ مِّنۡ قَبۡلِ اَنۡ یَّاۡتِیَ یَوۡمٌ لَّا بَیۡعٌ فِیۡہِ وَلَا خُلَّۃٌ وَّلَا شَفَاعَۃٌ ؕ وَالۡکٰفِرُوۡنَ ہُمُ الظّٰلِمُوۡنَ ﴿۲۵۵﴾
English Translation
O ye who believe! spend out of what We have bestowed on you before the day comes wherein there shall be no buying and selling, nor friendship, nor intercession; and it is those who disbelieve that do wrong to themselves.
O ye who believe! [f]spend out of what We have bestowed on you before the day comes wherein there shall be no buying and selling,[315] [a]nor friendship,[316] [b]nor intercession,[317] and it is those who disbelieve that do wrong to themselves.

On that day salvation will not be had for a price. It will depend only on one’s good works coupled with God’s grace.

There will be no occasion for forming new friendships on that day.
