Horwich, Bolton, UK – August 2026

By the Grace of Allah, the Bolton Qiadat held a 2-day summer camp for the Khuddam & Atfal (Shuja’at) students on Saturday 22 August and Sunday 23 August 2026, consisting of many physical and interactive activities. The summer camp, organised by the Amoor-e-Tulaba (Student Affairs) & Sehat-e-Jismani (Health & Fitness) departments, involved 24 students over the course of the 2-days.

Day 1 – Saturday

Inaugural Interactive Session

The summer camp began with Dhuhr prayers on Saturday at the Baitul Aziz Community Centre in Horwich, whereafter the students gathered for a discussion regarding Results Day and career planning, led by respected Murabbi Adeel Ahmad. The students were then split into two separate teams which were concocted for the camp, namely “Real Madrid” and “Barcelona”, initiating a competitive element amongst the Tulaba (Students). This was followed by a brief overview of the day’s programme before the hike to Rivington Pike from Baitul Aziz commenced.

Atfal & Khuddam comepting in a 100-meter sprint, representing their teams during the Hike to Rivington Pike.

Rivington Pike is located on top of the West Pennine Moors and is a 50-minute hike from Baitul Aziz. Passing through streams, paving stone paths, the Japanese Gardens, the forest and meadow, amongst other natural features enabled the Tulaba to appreciate the environment around them. Along the way, contests, such as the 100-meter sprints, between the teams took place, keeping the competitive element high.

Upon reaching the top of the moors, the Tulaba had time to strengthen their brotherhood over some light refreshments, before returning back to Baitul Aziz to continue with the remaining activities of Day 1 of the summer camp, which involved food to nourish the physical appetite that had been built up, and the Talqeen-e-Amal session on the topic of the “Love of the Arabic language” to nourish the spiritual appetite which had been stimulated.

The last activity of the day was unique and memorable due to the impromptu setting it was carried out in. It involved travelling to Blackburn, where the Khuddam & Atfal of not only Blackburn, but also Bolton and Preston welcoming Sadr Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya to the North West region at the Pleasington Playing Fields where the numerous football & cricket matches became the spectacle of the park as the competitive element of the summer camp grew from the two teams to Qiadat friendlies.

The Atfal & Khuddam were fortunate to have a sitting with Respected Sadr Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya at Baitul Rashid following Isha prayers, where Sadr Sahib shared accounts of the recent Jalsa Salana, and shared memories of time spent with Beloved Huzoor (a.b.a).

As Day 1 of the summer camp came to a close, the Tulaba headed back to rest for Day 2.

Day 2

The summer camp resumed on Sunday with Dhuhr prayers at Baitul Aziz in Horwich. The first activity of Day 2 of the Summer camp was a football match which took place at the Horwich Leisure Centre between “Real Madrid” and “Barcelona”. Both teams displayed resilience, courage and endurance. Barcelona scored 5 goals with all their might, however, the winner of the match with 7 goals was Real Madrid, scoring points in the overall competition between the two summer camp teams.

Physical activities continued with indoor sports such as the Table Tennis competition, of the highest competitive nature as the top 6 players from each team went head-to-head representing their respective teams in a bid to secure an overall point. The competition was fierce as the players displayed excellent performance. However, Real Madrid could not match the skills shown by the Barcelona players, defeating Real Madrid in the table tennis competition and scoring a point in the camp team competitions.

The table tennis session was followed by an engaging Talqeen-e-Amal session on various topics concerning the Youth, led by Murabbi Adeel Ahmad. In addition to this, an Arabic learning session was also conducted for the benefit of the the Tulaba before breaking away for Asr prayer.

Thus far, both Real Madrid and Barcelona had been awarded several points for winning rounds across the two days. However, the next activity was significant for earning points, lest they take it lightly and have over the trophy to the opposing team. This activity consisted of team quizzes with various rounds and challenges from which they could acquire crucial points. It required knowledge, strength and integrity and would decide the overall champions of the 2026 Bolton Summer Camp.

The rounds included:

  • 4-part Team Quiz
  • Paper Airplane challenge
  • Sabit Qadmi (Steadfastness) challenge
  • Wall-sit challenge
  • Arm-wrestling Challenge
  • Planks Challenge
  • Agility Test

The team challenges involved input from all team members with varying limitations on the physical challenges (such as the number of contestants etc). Each round was thrilling as the next as it came down to the very last challenge. Both teams had strived to win the competitions, but the team that won the most points across the entire summer camp in the end was Real Madrid.
