Point 1
Fasting is Fardh
In Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah The Almighty States:
یٰۤاَیُّہَا الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا کُتِبَ عَلَیۡکُمُ الصِّیَامُ کَمَا کُتِبَ عَلَی الَّذِیۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِکُمۡ لَعَلَّکُمۡ تَتَّقُوۡنَ
O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may become righteous.
Surah Al-Baqarah (Chapter 2, Verse 184)
Point 2
Fasting will save you from spiritual and moral weakness
In Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah The Almighty States:
وَعَلَی الَّذِیۡنَ یُطِیۡقُوۡنَہٗ فِدۡیَۃٌ
And for those who are able to fast only with great difficulty is an expiation
Surah Al-Baqarah (Chapter 2, Verse 184)

If you are sick, you should not fast
In Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah The Almighty States:
فَمَنۡ کَانَ مِنۡکُمۡ مَّرِیۡضًا اَوۡ عَلٰی سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّۃٌ مِّنۡ اَیَّامٍ اُخَرَ
But whoso among you is sick or is on a journey shall fast the same number of other days;
Surah Al-Baqarah (Chapter 2, Verse 185)
Point 4
A traveller should not fast
In Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah The Almighty States:
فَمَنۡ کَانَ مِنۡکُمۡ مَّرِیۡضًا اَوۡ عَلٰی سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّۃٌ مِّنۡ اَیَّامٍ اُخَرَ
But whoso among you is sick or is on a journey shall fast the same number of other days;
Surah Al-Baqarah (Chapter 2, Verse 185)

Missing a Fast or Temporary illness
In Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah The Almighty States:
وَمَنۡ کَانَ مَرِیۡضًا اَوۡ عَلٰی سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّۃٌ مِّنۡ اَیَّامٍ اُخَرَ
But whoso is sick or is on a journey, shall fast the same number of other days.
Surah Al-Baqarah (Chapter 2, Verse 186)
Point 6
Permanent illness or condition stopping you from fasting
If you have a permanent illness or condition, you do not have to keep a missed fast.

Shariat is based on ease not hardship
In Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah The Almighty States:
یُرِیۡدُ اللّٰہُ بِکُمُ الۡیُسۡرَ وَلَا یُرِیۡدُ بِکُمُ الۡعُسۡرَ
Allah desires to give you facility and He desires not hardship for you,
Surah Al-Baqarah (Chapter 2, Verse 186)
Point 8
Worship is not a burden, but is based on cheerfulness and openness of heart.
In Surah Al-e-`Imran, Allah The Almighty States:
اِنَّ اللّٰہَ رَبِّیۡ وَرَبُّکُمۡ فَاعۡبُدُوۡہُ ؕ ہٰذَا صِرَاطٌ مُّسۡتَقِیۡمٌ
‘Surely, Allah is my Lord and your Lord; so worship Him: this is the right path.’
Surah Al-e-`Imran (Chapter 3, Verse 52)

Those who do not take advantage of the permitted concessions and wants to please Allah with force are ignorant.
In Surah Al-Nisa, Allah The Almighty States:
وَاللّٰہُ یُرِیۡدُ اَنۡ یَّتُوۡبَ عَلَیۡکُمۡ ۟ وَیُرِیۡدُ الَّذِیۡنَ یَتَّبِعُوۡنَ الشَّہَوٰتِ اَنۡ تَمِیۡلُوۡا مَیۡلًا عَظِیۡمًا
‘Surely, Allah is my Lord and your Lord; so worship Him: this is the right path.’
Surah Al-Nisa (Chapter 4, Verse 28)
Point 10
Revelation of the Holy Qur'an
In Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah The Almighty States:
شَہۡرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِیۡۤ اُنۡزِلَ فِیۡہِ الۡقُرۡاٰنُ ہُدًی لِّلنَّاسِ
The month of Ramadan is that in which the Qur’an was sent down as a guidance for mankind,
Surah Al-Baqarah (Chapter 2, Verse 186)
Point 11
If you fast with pure intention you will receive nearness of Allah
In Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah The Almighty States:
فَمَنۡ تَطَوَّعَ خَیۡرًا فَہُوَ خَیۡرٌ لَّہٗ
And whoso performs a good work with willing obedience, it is better for him.
Surah Al-Baqarah (Chapter 2, Verse 185)

We should recite the Holy Quran abundantly during this month.
In Surah Bani Isra'il, Allah The Almighty States:
ؕ اِنَّ قُرۡاٰنَ الۡفَجۡرِ کَانَ مَشۡہُوۡدًا
Verily, the recitation of the Qur’an at dawn is specially acceptable to God.

Surah Al-Mu’minun, Ch.23: V.119
رَبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَاَنْتَ خَیْرُ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ
“My Lord, forgive and have mercy, and Thou art the Best of those who show mercy.” (Surah Al-Mu’minun, Ch.23: V.119)
Surah Al-Mu’minun Ch.23: V.110
رَبَّنَا اٰمَنَّا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا وَاَنْتَ خَیْرُ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ
“Our Lord, we believe; forgive us therefore [our sins], and have mercy on us; for Thou art the Best of those who show mercy.” (Surah Al-Mu’minun Ch.23: V.110)
Two prayers for Mercy from the Promised Messiah(as)
Prayer 1
رَبِّ ارْحَمْنِيْ اِنَّ فَضْلَكَ وَرَحْمَتَكَ یُنْجِيْ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ
Prayer 2
رَبِّ اغْفِرْ وارْحَمْ مِّنَ السّمَآء
Five acts of Worship During Ramadan
1. Offering Tahajjud and Nawafil prayers
The pre-dawn voluntary prayers.
2. Performing Tarawih prayers:
Special nightly congregational prayers held at mosques especially for those who find it difficult to wake up for Tahajjud prayers
3. Reciting the Quran
Many Muslims strive to complete the entire Quran at least once during Ramadan, as was the practice of the Holy Prophet ﷺ
4. Making du‘a (Supplication)
Asking Allah for mercy, forgiveness and guidance
5. Giving charity
Giving charity and other acts of service to Allah’s creation
