The Huddersfield North & South – Palestine & Israel Peace Conference
The Huddersfield North & South Jamaat recently hosted a momentous event—the Peace Conference on the Palestine & Israel conflict on the 9th of December 2023.
The conference aimed to foster dialogue and understanding while addressing the pressing issues surrounding the ongoing conflict. Distinguished guests, including the Deputy Lord Lieutenant, the Mayor of Kirklees, and politicians representing various parties, graced the occasion. Their presence emphasised the significance of coming together to seek a peaceful resolution to one of the most longstanding and complex conflicts in the world.
The event unfolded with insightful speeches from the esteemed guests, each emphasizing the importance of finding common ground and working towards a just and lasting solution. The focal point of the discussions revolved around the identification of five urgent actions necessary to bring an end to the conflict. These critical actions included an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, unrestricted access for humanitarian aid, compliance with international law, and a commitment to negotiating a lasting and peaceful resolution. The involvement of the mosque’s youth community, with Atfal and Nasrat taking the stage to convey messages of peace, added a poignant and hopeful touch to the event, highlighting the collective determination to create a better future for generations to come.
