Tahir Region Ijtema

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the grace of Allah the Almighty, Tahir Region’s Regional Khuddam & Atfal Ijtema 2024 took place on Sunday, 5th May at Epsom & Ewell High School.

Preparations for this year’s Ijtema commenced in March, with meticulous planning to secure a suitable venue and organise the various activities. After careful consideration, Epsom & Ewell High School was chosen as the venue, providing an ideal setting for the spiritual, academic, and recreational activities of the attendees.

A dedicated Ijtema Committee was established to oversee the planning and execution of the event. Weekly meetings were held to coordinate responsibilities and ensure that all aspects of the Ijtema were meticulously organised and executed seamlessly.

The theme for this year’s Khuddam & Atfal Ijtema was “Muhammad (saw) – The Perfect Preacher,” emphasising the exemplary qualities of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a preacher and messenger of Islam.

Preparations for the Ijtema were further enhanced by a house visits campaign, which commenced straight after Ramadan. Qaideen & Amila members were assigned visits and calls to be completed prior to the Ijtema, fostering personal connections within the region and encouraging participation in the event.

The day of the Ijtema commenced with the opening session, chaired by Mohtamim Maal Tauseef Ahmad sahib accompanied by Additional Mohtamim Maal Muhammad Luqman sahib. Tauseef sahib expressed the importance of contributing towards chanda & Chanda Tamirat, setting the tone for the day’s activities.

Following the opening session, attendees engaged in various activities including academic competitions for Khuddam, such as Tilawat, Nazm, Azan, Prepared Speech, Extempore Speech, and the team quiz. Simultaneously, Atfal participated in sports activities including Football, Badminton, Basketball, Dodgeball, and Sprints.

The exhibition, a centrepiece of the event, provided attendees with a deeper understanding of the theme. Various posters highlighted the qualities of the Holy Prophet, the timeline of his preaching, how his message reached the world, stories of companions and khulfa on their conversions, the importance of tabligh as stated in the Holy Qur’an and Ahadith, and testimonials from non-Muslims about the Holy Prophet. Additionally, books and leaflets were available for further exploration and reflection.

During the day, Atfal recorded a video message to be presented to Huzoor (aba), expressing their love and prayers for our beloved Khalifa.

Following lunch, served at 12:30 pm, and congregational Zuhr and Asr prayers, the academic and sports activities continued, ensuring a balanced schedule for all participants. The lunch menu included Chickpeas rice, lamb korma, chicken roast, and chicken pasta, with a special focus on catering to the preferences of the Atfal.

In addition to the main activities, a board games room provided a relaxed atmosphere for those seeking alternative forms of entertainment and engagement.

The closing session was chaired by Sadr Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya UK accompanied by Motamid Umair Bashir sahib and Muavin Sadr Sammar Malik sahib. Sadr sahib expressed the importance of the trivial time and how our Khalifa is preparing us and also reminded us to pray for his health.

The attendance was 201 Khuddam & 100 Atfal  and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all attendees for their participation and contribution to the success of this year’s Regional Ijtema.

Special thanks are due to the members of the Ijtema Committee for their tireless efforts and dedication in organising a memorable and spiritually enriching event.
