Worcester Park Qiadat – Local Khuddam Ijtema
Worcester Park – Local Khuddam Ijtema
Alhamdulillah on the 1st February 2026 Worcester Park held their local Khuddam Ijtema at Richard Challenor School.
Planning for the Ijtema began approximately six to seven weeks in advance, during which a dedicated committee was formed. Several meetings were held to carefully plan every aspect of the day, with the central aim of ensuring the Ijtema would be engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable for all Khuddam.
The Ijtema formally commenced with Fajr prayers at Worcester Park Salat Centre, attended by around 15 Khuddam, with some members offering Fajr at other local mosques.

The opening session began at approximately 11am, featuring addresses by the local Qaid Sahib and Mohtamim Tarbiyat, Aqib Khan Sahib. Both speakers reflected on the theme of the year, explaining its relevance and importance for young Khuddam navigating the challenges of the modern world.
This was followed by the academic sessions, which commenced promptly and included Tilawat, Adhan, Nazm, and a prepared speech. After this, the team quiz, forming part of the MKA trials, was held. This was a lively and engaging activity, with rounds covering topics such as Islamic history and general sports knowledge.

Lunch followed, where Khuddam enjoyed a new menu, consisting of chicken Manchurian, egg fried rice, and gajar ka halwa for dessert.
After Namaz, we were fortunate to host a self-defence workshop, led by members of the Worcester Park Jamaat. Khuddam were reminded of the Islamic importance of learning self-defence, alongside a discussion of the practical realities of today’s society, including rising hate crime, and the necessity of being able to protect oneself responsibly.
The remainder of the MKA trials then took place, including the cup stacking challenge, press-up challenge, sit-up challenge, and plank contest. These activities generated a positive competitive atmosphere and were enjoyed by all participants.
The day concluded with a variety of sports and physical activities, including kalai pakarna(wrist wrestling) and sabit qadmi, where the unique athletic skills of Khuddam were clearly on display.
Throughout the day, an active milkshake bar was run to raise funds for Humanity First, with Oreo milkshakes proving especially popular. Roughly £200 was raised. In addition, there was an exhibition on the theme of the year, allowing attendees to learn about its meaning, origins, and presence in the literature of the Promised Messiah (as).

Adjacent to the exhibition was an “Ask a Murabbi” corner, which provided Khuddam with an open and unfiltered space to ask questions and seek guidance on Islamic matters. Prior to the concluding session we also had a talkeen-e-amal session led by regional nazim Talim, Akash Malik sb, which was going in greater depth on the theme of the year. This was then followed by the concluding session in which prizes were distributed and Khuddam were joined by Regional Qaid Kamil Zahid sb.
Local Qaid Walid Ahmed: ‘Overall, the Ijtema was a successful and enjoyable event, combining spiritual, intellectual and physical activities. I thank all those who attended and contributed to making the day a success.’
