Important Advice for Students

Your student years are an opportunity to develop academically, strengthen your faith and prepare for life beyond education. The following advice offers practical steps to help you get the most out of this time.

1. Maintain Your Faith

A busy academic schedule can make it easy to neglect religious commitments. Therefore, prioritise establishing a daily routine that explicitly allocates an appropriate amount of time for your Salat and other acts of Zikrillahi (Remembering Allah), rather than leaving them until you have spare time . Seeking out local Ahmadi Muslim students through the increasing number of AMSAs can also help maintain a supportive religious environment. Remember that your education and faith should always complement one another, and seek guidance when facing situations that challenge your religious principles.

2. Make Informed Decisions About Your Future

Choose your subjects, degree and career based on a realistic understanding of your interests, strengths and opportunities. Speak to people studying or working in fields that interest you, attend university open days and research career prospects before making decisions. Writing a letter to Huzoor in advance, requesting for his advice will always prove to be beneficial. Do not feel pressured to follow a particular path solely for the pursuit of money, or as a result of peer pressure.

3. Make the Most of Your University Experience

University is an opportunity to develop independence, build relationships and gain experience beyond your degree. Get involved in societies, seek internships or volunteering opportunities, and develop skills that employers value. Manage your finances by budgeting for essential expenses and avoiding unnecessary debt.

4..Take Control of Your Studies

Do not wait until examinations are approaching to address gaps in your understanding. Review your notes regularly, practise past papers and identify topics you find difficult. Break large assignments into smaller tasks with clear deadlines, and ask teachers or lecturers for help early. If you are applying to university, research entry requirements and application deadlines well in advance.

Need further guidance? Amoor-e-Tuluba can support you with university applications, personal statements and better understanding your academical pathways. Make use of these resources when making decisions about your education and future.
