We’ve again arranged a packed Spring Retreat for young Khuddam and Atfal at the beautiful venue of Jamia Ahmadiyya in Haslemere, Surrey.
With activities from going back in time to the early history of Islam to playing football and cricket to learning first aid to receiving mentoring about universities, this year’s Spring Retreat is a week full of educational and recreational activities.
It will – inshAllah – take place from the 7th to 13th April 2019 and is for 14-17 year olds. Places are limited so please register as soon as possible using this link.

Frequently Asked Questions
We recommend that you don’t bring such devices just in case you misplace them, break them accidently, etc. We will not take responsibility of such equipment.
No. As the class is quite intense with variety of activities which require all Atfal and Khuddam to stay on site. If for some reason you are not coping or feeling unwell then a decision will be made with your parents to come and collect you and take you home.
Yes. We recommend that you don’t bring large amounts of money. You should restrict the amount you bring to about £5 allowance per day. Again we don’t take responsibility of money you have bought with you. You will be provided ample refreshments and meals during your stay.
It is indoors within Jamia premises and you will be provided mattresses and bedding. Their will be adequate heating in the premises. The rooms you will be accommodated in are per your designated group.
Yes. These facilities are used by Jamia students on a regular basis and are fully functional. There should be enoughers and toilets for all to use. If there is malfunction of any of these facilities then we will ensure this is resolved by the onsite team.
We will try and give you insight on varying religious and non- religious teachings during your stay.
We have already requested this information from you and your parents whilst registering. We will endeavour to cater for these needs based on the information we have and provide you with something you can eat.
We aim to help and facilitate learning for all Atfal and Khuddam that attend. There are varying activities that should assist in helping your child to open up. However we will require the Tifl/Khadim to engage with the teachers to get the most out of the class. We aim to make the classes as engaging and interactive as possible.
No. However we have members of Jamia Ahmadiyya UK and members of National Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya that have been selected to run the classes. They have been running these classes previously and have built experience on how to deal with this age group. The teachers are all volunteers and have also been provided some training and insight by professional teachers.
We aim to run a fair and professional service during this spring retreat. If the organisers see any issues with discipline amongst the Atfal and Khuddam, then this will be addressed. If its something that needs general guidance this will be provided, however if its individual(s) this will be taken up with the individual(s) privately. If the issue cannot be resolved and its to detriment of rest of the class the parents of child will be called and advised that their child needs to be taken home and cannot attend rest of the class. Each case will be assessed on individual basis. This could also impact attendance at future events hence we advise parents to brief their children before they attend on not using any foul language, fighting or being disobedient when attending.

We recommend you drop your child off at Jamia Ahmadiyya on Sunday 01 April after 6pm and pick them up on Staurday 7th April after Zuhr and Asr Salat. You can join us for the final session on Saturday 7th April if you like.
Yes! There are other sports you can take part in like dodge ball, table tennis, etc.
These activities will take place in the afternoon
Yes there will be other recreational activities that will help with your child’s learning and development.

Note: Pillows, Duvets, etc. are provided however if you want to bring your own you can do.
Etiquettes of Spring Retreat Class
General
- Please DO NOT bring the following items to the Spring Retreat (If these or any other distracting items are found, they will be confiscated for the duration of the class):
- Game boy or portable/handheld video games
- MP3 Player/CD Player/Walkman
- Board games
- Playing cards/sports cards
- Take care of personal belongings such as wallet, mobile phones, electronic devices etc.
- Organisers are not responsible for misplaced or lost items.
- Never steal and never abuse anyone physically or verbally. Participants can be sent home for such misconduct.
- Co-operate with organisers on duty.
- Be courteous to fellow Khuddam and Atfal.
- Say Salam to other Khuddam and Atfal generously and make new friends.
- Do not make noise once the lights go out for the night. Many Khuddam and Atfal have travelled long distances to get to the class and need some quiet time to get some sleep.
- Keep the site clean especially the washrooms and report any non-functional washrooms ASAP.
- Constantly pray for the success of the class.
Sports
- Do not swear, lie, cheat, fight, play rough, or act inappropriately.
- During sports activities, referees and organisers can disqualify participants for such behaviour.
- More severe actions can also be taken in cases of fighting.
- Obey the referees and do not try to influence them.
- Play for the sake of the game, and not merely to win.
- Accept defeat cheerfully and be generous to the opponent in victory and defeat
