False Insurance Claims
Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih IV (rh) states:
“In the case of insurance, there is its impermissible use. In daily life, the Government provides a facility—yet you are [incorrectly] doing what you are doing. If you are indeed doing [i.e making false insurance claims], then you ought to be ready to be caught and face punishment. Why do you do this? If you engage in [the false claims of insurance business] with the certainty that if you get caught you shall accept your mistake and shall not throw yourself into further sin, then many of you, if you have such certainty about yourselves, would run away from such an endeavour.
However, those that do engage in this [false claims of insurance] have thieves hidden in their hearts. These thieves incite them that if they get caught they will say that they were doing it with such and such intent, or the reality was different—or even that the Government has been misinformed and lies are being spread about them.
Thus, within everyone, there hide the thieves of dishonesty. If one ponders over this he shall find that in reality he worships these thieves more than he worships God Almighty. This is because Allah the Almighty says that when moments of severe calamity arise, even some polytheists turn to Him and seek His help. For example, when the winds on the sea change course, and the waves begin to batter a ship so fiercely that it could sink at any moment, even a polytheist begins to call upon God.
Now consider the state of a monotheist who, when faced with minor challenges in life—when their ship merely sways slightly—does not turn their mind toward God but inclines instead toward some falsehood. This is tantamount to making that falsehood their god, which is an extremely vile act. Such falsehood consumes and nullifies a lifetime of professing the Oneness of God.”
