Due to the increase in demand for staff across the grocery retail sector we have identified many of the key supermarket chains who are looking to hire additional staff today. Lidl has committed to hiring 2500 staff, Aldi has created 500 temporary jobs and 4000 permanent jobs, Asda is taking on 5000 temporary staff and Morrisons have created 3500 temporary roles. Please find below a list of the key retailers hiring and a brief overview of their application process.

Tesco

There are multiple vacancies on the Tesco website. The COVID19 support vacancies are identified as “Immediate Start/Temporary”. The roles range from Shelf Stocking (Including night shift) to delivery drivers. Morrisons

Morrisons are doing the temp store applications on their main HR website as well. Finally your confirmation of right to work in the UK. There are multiple roles, including logistics (Lorry/HGV driving) to stock replenishment roles.

Sainsburys

Search for opportunities through their website: https://sainsburys.jobs/roles/stores-and-home-delivery/ and select the role you would like to apply for.

Amazon

Amazon have a Deliveroo style service named “Amazon Flex” which is a 4-5 hour shift where you collect parcels from the warehouses and deliver to the customers door. The application process is straightforward but requires that you download the app and follow the guidance on the Amazon Flex website – https://flex.amazon.co.uk/ These roles with Amazon are weekly paying jobs, the hours are very flexible From 8am to about 10pm) and are 7 days a week. You will also be covered by Amazons commercial insurance.

Deliveroo

Deliveroo, whilst these are not temp jobs, the demand for Deliveroo drivers is on the increase due to restaurants becoming delivery only in the COVID19 climate. The application process is fairly straightforward and requires an app to be installed. Lidl

Lidl’s main Jobs website also has there temp COVID19 support jobs listing. https://careers.lidl.co.uk/ If you go to the centre of the page, there is a section named “Stock Assistant Page” where you will be redirected to the application process. The rates are £9.30 for outside M25 and £10.75 inside M25. The contracts are 4 week rolling (Minimum 4 weeks). There are 325 jobs currently listed.

Uber Eats
