The KCL was back after the Jalsa break with a simultaneous double header

At Alexandra Park, the Stars were up against the in-form Challengers side. With key players missing for the Stars, stand in captain Tehseen won the toss for them and elected to bat first.

Tahir and Saqib were looking good for the opening stand until it was broken in the 3rd over with the score at 20-1. With no real momentum building for the stars, the first half of the innings proved to be a real struggle as the Stars clearly missed the expertise of Harawal and Khurram to guide them through. One of the league’s most impressive bowlers (Salman Jajja) was once again in the wickets and low economy for the Challangers with figures of 3-17 in his 4 overs. With the score at 5-53 in 10 overs, a good resistance offered by Tehseen and Talha (both scoring 26 a piece) helped the Stars to muster somewhat of a score with the help of the lower order to reach 122.

The Challangers would not be too fussed with the required run rate at 6 per over considering their batting firepower. Safwan was once again in his belligerent form with a quick 27 off 12 balls (3 fours and 2 sixes). The young Rana Faizan was afforded time to find himself in the league going into the crucial stage of the tournament with a casual stride out in the crease scoring a nice 41 off 44 balls. Whilst Salman Jajja who has been highly impressive with the ball was also replicating his impact with the bat now scoring an excellent 43* off 30. The Challangers chased the runs down with no real issue at the loss of 2 wickets in 15.2 overs.

A good all round performance by Salman Jajja was the deserving MOTM performance of the day. The Stars having started off so well in the campaign have hit some poor form with results not going in their favour of late, whilst the Challengers March with strong performances.
