MKA Worcester Park Ijtema 2023

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

By the grace of Allah the Almighty, Worcester Park Khuddam & Atfal Ijtema 2023 was held on Sunday, 5th February, in Danetree School, Epsom.

We started planning for this Ijtema in December 2022. The Ijtema committee was formed consisting of 9 members, who were all assigned different roles.  We created a detailed project plan and meetings were held regularly.

The event started with registration and a continental breakfast for attendees. This was followed by the opening session, which was chaired by respected Naib Sadr, Tariq Hayat Saab, and attended by Jamil Bhatti Saab. Both guests conducted speeches which covered the theme of this year’s Ijtema, “Salat – the delight of our eyes”.

Following the opening session, the academics started for Khuddam, covering: Tilawat, Azan, prepared speech, and extempore speech. Sports competitions started in parallel for Atfal, including: football, dodgeball, basketball, and sprint race.

The next session was a discussion forum with Khuddam, chaired by Naib Sadr Saab. Various topical issues, that effect Khuddam, were discussed.

We then offered our Zohr and Asr prayers, in congregation, followed by lunch where our Ziafat team served a delicious meal of biryani and kheer, with Pizza being offered for Atfal.

Following the lunch, the Academics started for Atfal, covering: Tilawat, Azan, Nazm, prepared speech and quiz competitions. Atfal also had a poster competition. Sports competitions started in parallel for Khuddam, covering: tennis, football, basketball and table tennis.

After the day’s events the concluding session commenced with Tilawat. The session was chaired by respected Sadr Saab and Naib Sadr Saab. A highlight of the year’s activities and the Ijtema report was presented by Qaid Majlis, Usman Dean. This was followed by the prize giving ceremony. A special award was given to Nauman Mahmood Saab, to recognise his work in the Qiadat. The session concluded with a speech from Sadr Saab. Finally, the day ended with congregational Maghrib prayers.

I would like to thank all the attendees, without each one of you this would not have been successful. Also, a sincere thanks to the regional amla, members of our local jamaat and to every member of our Ijtema committee that worked together to make this event a great success.

JazakAllah

Wassalam
