National Spring Retreat 2018

Alhamdulillah by the Grace and Mercy of Allah, the Spring Retreat this year was again a success with over 160 young adults staying for a full week at the beautiful site of Jamia Ahmadiyya in Haslemere, Surrey.

Arriving on the evening of Sunday 1st April, they spent 7 packed days with activities and lessons from going back in time to the early history of Islam to playing football and cricket to learning first aid to firing model rockets. On Wednesday specifically they had a day full of activities including tent building, robotics, zorbing and much more.

"Jazakumullah for the work you put in to the make the week very informative and enjoyable"

The week also had a sombre tone to it to inculcate good spiritual and religious habits. Aswell as the obligatory prayers, the young men also woke up early for that most blessed of voluntary prayers – Tahajjud prayer – aswell as performing Waqar-e-Amal to clean up their rooms and had dedicated study time and guest lectures every evening.

"I cannot thank you enough for giving my son such a great opportunity to learn and enjoy himself so much. He could not stop talking about it"

Parents were sent daily emails of the activities of the youth summarising the day’s activities and highlight videos were also uploaded daily on YouTube (you can catch these below if you haven’t already seen them!).

"After the Retreat, our son now reminds us about prayer, praises God and tells his brother about God. We can't believe it - a new child"
