Southall King’s Coronation Celebration 2023
Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Southall organised an event to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III at the Darus Salaam Mosque on 8th May.
The event was well attended with Mayoress of the Borough of Ealing, Cllr Mohinder Kaur Midha, deputy Mayor of the Borough of Ealing, Cllr Hitesh Tailor, The leader of the Ealing council, Cllr Peter Mason, the Member of Parliament for Ealing Southall Mr Virendra Sharma, the Member of Parliament for Ealing central and Acton Ms Rupa Huq, Cabinet members and Councilors along with 90 external guest and 50 Jama’at members. The dignitaries addressed the gathering and appreciated the role of Jama’at in the
Borough of Ealing.
Preparations for the event were started with the planning meeting followed by invitations for the event being sent to dignitaries and Neighbours by the external affairs department. Permission was secured from the Borough of Ealing for a street party on Monday 8th May 2023. Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Southall was given permission for closure of the Boyd Avenue for the street party from 13:00 to 18:00 on the day. The guests were received and registered at reception on arrival. The guests were given a guided tour of the Darus Salaam Mosque The proceedings started with recitation of Holy Quran the gathering was addressed by the Mayoress, the leader of Council, Member of Parliament and cabinet member followed by a vote of thanks by President of AMA Southall Anes Khan. After the formal session all participants gathered outside on the street where they were served food and refreshments.
