MKA Ewell Ijtema 2022

By the grace of Allah the Almighty, Ewell Khuddam Ijtema was held on Sunday, 23 January 2022 in Shiraz Mirza Community Hall under strict Covid safety guidelines.. The sports competitions were held in Goals Tolworth in the afternoon.

This year’s theme of Ijtema is ‘Honoring Our Pledge’. Majlis Ewell has tried to reflect all their activities based on this year’s theme.

Planning for our Ijtema started in early November. A letter for Dua to Huzur-e-Aqdas (aba) was sent to request special prayers for the overall success and fulfilment of the objectives of the Ijtema.

Due to the uncertainty of the pandemic, and the potential for government guidelines around social distancing changing, we had to plan for a number of eventualities in terms of how this event was to be held, and hence an early start was made so we could accommodate a fully physical Ijtema, hybrid or virtual rally.

The Committee members were selected from Ewell Qiadat. Members were informed of their roles before regular meetings commenced. A project plan was created and meetings were held weekly to discuss high level responsibilities, followed by detailed departmental plans and the progress of these.

The attendance campaign kicked off with
initial communication to Khuddam and Atfal around 6 weeks before their respective events, through a combination of social media, instant messaging, phone calls and house visits to help promote the event.

The Ijtema started today at 9.00 with Registration.

The Opening Ijtema ceremony started at 10:30 am chaired by Respected National MKA Sadr Sahib via Video Link. First was Tilawat with English translation which was recited by a Khadim of MKA EWELL Kamil Zahid Sahib, followed by Pledge led by Sadr Sahib. Then Sadr Sahib requested the various Qaideen including Qaid Majlis of Ewell to provide brief opening remarks. In the end, Sadr sb gave his opening speech, question & answer session and Dua.

Shortly after, the Academics started. The competitions included Tilawat, Nazm, Azan, Prepared Speech and Extempore Speech. This was then followed by a group exercise facilitated by National Mohtamim Tarbiyyat based on this year’s Ijtema theme, where small breakout groups where created to discuss key elements of the pledge, and were then presented back to the wider group. MashAllah this interactive session generated great participation and learning for us all.

After this, we held the closing session which was chaired by Attique Rehman sahib serving as National Mohtamim Tarbiyat. First was Tilawat by Mubariz Ahmadi Sahib, then Pledge by Attique Rehman sb, Nazam by Sheraz Qamar sb, and Ijtema report was presented by Nazim e Ala Ijtema Sufyan Raja Sahib. Then Attique Rehman sahib delivered his closing address and led us in Silent Prayer.

Post this closing session and Namaz, we handed out packed lunches for those here in person. We then moved to our sports venue where khudddam took part in Football, dodgeball and 100m sprint, followed by a prize distribution ceremony by Regional Qaid Sahib.

The overall attendance was 36 out of 50 Khuddam who were eligible to attend the Ijtema in Person.

Finally, would like to sincerely thank Sadr sb, National Amila Members, Regional Qaid sb, his team and all the Ijtema organisers for all their help and support. May Allah bless you all. May Allah enable us to fulfil our pledge and always remain loyal to Khilafat. Ameen.
