Winter Campaign-Helping Londons Vulnerable Communities
Southall Khuddam began the year with acts of devotion, service, and unity, setting the tone for a year dedicated to giving back to the community.
The day started with a spiritual focus, as members gathered for the Tahajjud and Fajr prayers at Southall Darussalam Mosque. After the prayers, participants enjoyed a hearty breakfast together, marking a peaceful beginning to the new year.
In a display of service to the community, over 15 Southall Khuddam, joined by Khuddam from Greenford, took to the streets for a New Year’s Day cleanup of Southall Broadway. The group worked diligently, filling several bags with litter, leaving the area noticeably cleaner and fostering a sense of responsibility for their local environment.
While some Khuddam were out on the streets, others stayed behind at Southall Mosque to assist with Wakar-e-amal in the kitchen, helping to maintain the mosque’s cleanliness and readiness for daily use. Their hard work and dedication were deeply appreciated by the local community.
The spirit of service continued into the next day as Southall Khuddam, in collaboration with Hounslow North and Greenford Khuddam, took part in a compassionate initiative to support the homeless in Central London. Together, they distributed meals, hats, and gloves to those in need, tackling the growing issue of homelessness in the capital. The initiative highlighted the commitment of the Khuddam to serve and uplift those less fortunate in their community.
Organizers expressed their gratitude for the efforts of all those involved in these meaningful acts of kindness, emphasizing the importance of starting the year with prayers, brotherhood, and a dedication to serving others.
