Southall Prayers For Peace

On Sunday the 10th of December 2023, The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association in Southall organized an event to endorse the National Voices for Peace campaign, focusing on the IsraelPalestine crisis and emphasizing the urgent need for peace.  The event commenced at 4 pm on Sunday, December 10, by recitation of the Holy Quran by Mr. Osama Syam, followed by a welcome address from our local president, Mr. Anes Ahmad Khan. He extended his greetings to all the guests and participants. This was followed by a two-minute silence in remembrance of all the victims of the Israel-Palestine conflict, led by the local Imam of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association, Mr. Mujeeb Mirza. Notable attendees included representatives from various faiths, religious groups, and the respected Member of Parliament, Mr. Virendra Sharma. Additionally, 55 local members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Southall actively participated in the event. The diverse lineup of guest speakers represented faith backgrounds from the Christian, Hindu, Sikh, and Jewish communities. Although our Jewish guest couldn’t join us in person due to Hanukkah, We received acknowledgments for the significance of the initiative we were undertaking. Mr. Sheikh Latif Ur Rehman served as the evening’s host, responsible for the event’s smooth flow. The first speaker of the evening was the esteemed MP, Virendra Sharma. He expressed gratitude for the invitation and emphasized the importance of such events in building cohesive communities, Mr. Sharma mentioned hearing messages delivered by our beloved Huzoor, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, emphasizing the clarity of the message and expressing support for the “call to action” points, including a ceasefire, outlined on the first page.
