KCL SOUTH OUTDOOR 2025 – MATCH 14 REPORT

Trustworthy Knights v Defenders of Peace

A clash between two confident sides of the league, the two table toppers went head to head for an encounter to assert dominance. The Knights winning the toss elected to bat first at Alexandra Park.

Off to a jolted start at 34-2 in 27 balls, a clinical 95 run partnership between Khurram and Waseem laid the foundation for a good score for the team batting. The form man Waseem casually manoeuvred his way to a resounding 51 off 27, whilst it was Khurram (70 off 40) who did the major damage with the lower middle order after the dismissal of Waseem and helped push the team’s total to 176-7. This was going to be a testing total for Haseeb’s Defenders!

The DOP were off to a similar start having lost their first 2 wickets with the score at 33 off 23 balls. However, the excellence of Nauman was at display again with 2 early wickets, allowing then for Ehsan to pick up the big wicket of Irfan in the middle! Harris Usman then did the job for the side by removing the electric Hamza for a brief 12 runs, and the DOP had lost their way totally at 5-65! Brief little spells from Shahid, Ajaz and Naser were all impactful with wickets a piece, and the DOP were skittled out for a score of 92, suffering a heavy loss of 84 runs!

There is no doubt that the Knights under the leadership of Adeel are ticking all boxes so far in this year’s campaign with such an emphatic win over last year’s champions. The Defenders have had a blip in this year’s tournament so far, but they will look to get back on track after this let up. Khurram was awarded the MOTM award for his excellent 70.
