Glasgow North | Atfal Ijtema 2026
Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah Almighty, the Atfal Ijtema was successfully held on Feb 8 2026. The preparations for the Ijtema began several months in advance with discussions to finalise the date. More detailed planning commenced approximately three weeks prior to the event, during which the committee held meetings to organise a meaningful and engaging programme for the Atfal.
A special feature added this year was a laser tag session to make the event enjoyable and memorable for the Atfal. Throughout the preparation phase, particular emphasis was placed on prayers, offering Sadqah, and writing letters to Huzoor (aba) seeking prayers for the success of the Ijtema.
On the day of the event, the programme began with registration followed by light refreshments, including egg, croissants, and spicy potatoes. The opening session was delivered by Murabbi Sahib, who reminded the Atfal about the purpose and importance of attending Ijtema.
Academic competitions were then conducted, with younger groups allocated a separate room to ensure smooth organisation, while older groups remained in the main hall.
A faith-inspiring and very engaging talk on the Ijtema theme was delivered by Muhammad Akbar Butt Sahib, Mohtamim Atfal UK.
The sports session included football and a 50-metre sprint. Thereafter, the Atfal participated in the laser tag activity. Upon returning to the mosque, lunch (chicken and chips) was served, followed by Zuhr and Asr prayers. The event then concluded with the closing session at 3pm.
Alhamdulillah, the Ijtema was successful. We sincerely thank all committee members for their dedication, hard work, and prayers.
May Allah enable us to truly understand and live by the theme, “Our Paradise Lies in Our God,” and grant us success in both worlds. Ameen.
