7th February 2026 – Worcester Park Atfal Ijtema

Planning for the Ijtema began approximately five to seven weeks in advance, during which a dedicated committee was formed. Several meetings were held to carefully plan every aspect of the day, with the central aim of ensuring the Ijtema would be engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable for all Atfal.

The opening session began at approximately 10:30am, featuring addresses by the mohtamim Atfal – akbar iqbal sb.. The  speaker reflected on the theme of the year, explaining its relevance and importance for Atfal navigating the challenges of the modern world.

This was followed by the sports session which involved dodgeball, circuit race, and nazam chairs. Then we had zuhr and asr namaz followed by talkeene amal led by local qaid sb which was going in greater depth on the theme of the year. and then we had lunch consisting of pizza.

After this, we had the academic sessions, which commenced promptly and included Tilawat, Adhan, Nazm, prepared speech and extempore speech. We also watched an Islamic movie after, which was much enjoyed by our Atfal.

Throughout the day, an active milkshake bar was run to raise funds for Humanity First, with Oreo milkshakes proving especially popular. Roughly £80 was raised.In addition, there was an exhibition on the theme of the year, allowing attendees to learn about its meaning, origins, and presence in the literature of the Promised Messiah (as). At the exhibition, Atfal also wrote around 23 letters to beloved Huzoor (aba).
